 Ischia,
Capri, Procida and Vivara: these are the partenopean island in the
bay of Naples. To the north of the gulf are situated Ischia, Procida
and Vivara, looking toward the "Flegrea"coast (and "Flegree"
is their name), while in the sotuh of the gulf, opposite to the Sorrento
peninsula, lays Capri.
Ischia Island is a station of thermal cares, among the most important
in Italy.

From the pier "Beverello"
in Naples you can reach Ischia with ferryboats or hydrofoil
boats and from "Mergellina" in Naples only with hydrofoil
boats. You can reach Hotel Miramare e Castello from the port
on Ischia with the "Micro-Taxi" (typical small taxis
on the island) or with the bus No. 7.

By Car. From Roma (A1), from Bari (A16),
from Salerno (A30).
It is better to follow the road markings for the "Tangenziale"
(bypass) (exit No. 12) and to go on towards Pozzuoli. Then please
go out at the Via Campana (exit No. 12) and go on towards the
Harbour of Pozzuoli (only ferries), which is about 4 km far
away.
You can also reach the harbour of Naples Beverello (both ferries
and hydrofoils). You don't have to turn into the "Tangenziale",
but to follow the road markings for the Zona Portuale (Harbour
Area) and, after the exit, to go on for the harbour, which is
about 5 km far from the highway. |
